There is no evidence that whey protein can lead to kidney damage. Most studies regarding whey protein conclude that there are no side effects whatsoever to healthy people. But if you have a pre-existing kidney condition, you should check with the doctor before taking any whey protein product.
- Liver damage
Again, whey protein can’t cause liver damage to healthy people. In fact, the liver itself need protein to recover and turn fats to lipoproteins. Plus whey protein helps to reduce liver fats and reduce blood triglycerides. But if you do have a liver-related medical condition, check with the doctor first.
In conclusion, there is no evidence to suggest that whey protein causes harm to your body unless you have any pre-existing medical problems. Seek doctor’s advise before taking any supplements to ensure that you are healthy or fit enough to take it.
