Produced in the late 1960s, the energy bar was designed for astronauts in space. Shortly after that, the product found its way into the sports scene, often marketed as a meal replacement. Most cereal found in the store is not healthy because of the sugar content. Food companies are basically selling you a box of sugar and you’re buying it and serving it to your family, believing that it is actually healthy. Worst of all is you know it’s not healthy but you continue buying or eating it because it’s convenient. The Independent revealed that cereals with the highest sugar content are Aldi’s Harvest Morn Choco Rice, Kellogg’s Frosties, Sainsbury’s Honey Nut Corn Flakes, Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut.
Coke fans are not going to be happy about this. Known to contain a crazy amount of sugar in a single can, Coke came out with zero sugar alternative drinks. Even though it’s sugar-free, the drink still contains artificial sweeteners which are linked to diabetes. There is no scientific evidence yet but experts are conducting researches on the negative effects of artificial sweeteners.
Only if you squeeze it or blend it in your house or have it done right in front of your eyes, then yes, its all-natural and contain zero artificial sugar in it. If that’s not the case, then we’re sad to inform you that your ‘100% natural fruit juice’ might contain sugar or sweeteners in it to enhance the taste.
The good news is granola contains a lot of fibre and iron which can do wonders to your body. However, it is very high in calories and contains different types of sugar with healthy-sounding names!
