Metabolism is the process by which your body converts what you eat and drink into energy. Some of the factors that affect your metabolism include age, gender and body composition. Find out how you can boost your metabolism and improve your overall health and well-being.
1.Sleep
Easy right? By just getting enough sleep at night, you can
improve your metabolism. A recent study published in the Journal of Lipid
Research found that if you get less than five hours sleep you will feel less satisfied
even after you had a fatty meal. Also, don’t expect your metabolism to improve
ASAP after getting enough sleep for only one night. Continue improving your
sleep schedule to see the results.
2. Drink enough water
Another simple way to improve your metabolism. American Council on Exercise (ACE) recommends drinking at least 2 litres a day to make sure your body can function at its peak.
3. Add coffee to your diet
We can hear coffee lovers cheering…. but how does coffee affect your metabolism? Caffeine is a natural stimulant that momentarily raises your heart rate and thus increases calorie burning.
4. Green tea can also do wonders
Not a coffee person? Green tea can also improve your
metabolism. A study suggests that a cup of green tea can offer moderate
metabolism-boosting benefits due to antioxidants called catechins.
5. Exercise
Personally, we think there’s nothing a good workout can’t solve. Try different workouts so that your body won’t become immune to the exercise.
