Yusri steps down as KLFA coach
Kuala Lumpur Football Association (KLFA) head coach Yusri Che Lah has decided to resign following the team’s poor performance in the Malaysia Super League this season.
Yusri however insisted that the decision was solely his own and it was done with the team’s best interest in mind.
“I have resigned with the consent of the KLFA management. If I resigned without their consent, action could be taken against me based on the contract,” said Yusri.
“Not everyone realises that the five matches we faced were against strong teams like Pahang, JDT, Terengganu, Melaka United and Selangor.
“Honestly, I do not feel that the players ‘killed’ (boycotted) me. I believe that if I am honest with people, they will also be honest with me.”
It has been confirmed that assistant coach Chong Yee Fatt will take charge of the team before a suitable replacement is found.
Kuala Lumpur have been defeated in all five of their games in the league this season and are currently bottom of the table.
