United ease past Arsenal

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s resurgent Manchester United side defeated Arsenal 3-1 in the FA Cup Fourth Round at the Emirates Stadium this morning.

Goals from former Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez (31′), Jesse Lingard (33′) and Anthony Martial (82′) ensured that interim boss Solskjaer maintained his perfect start with eight wins out of eight in all competitions.

Arsenal’s solitary goal was scored Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the 43rd minute, right before half-time, but the home side were unable to build on it following the break.

In this morning’s other FA Cup match, Bristol City edged out Bolton 2-1 at Ashton Gate thanks to goals from Callum O’Dowda (8′) and Niclas Eliasson (30′).

The result extended Bristol City’s unbeaten run to 12 matches in all competitions.
