Sumareh vows to make Malaysia proud

Pahang winger Mohamadou Sumareh has promised to take full advantage of the opportunity handed to him by Malaysia Head Coach Tan Cheng Hoe, ahead of his first cap for the national side.

Sumareh, who obtained his Malaysian citizenship last April, was called up to the National Squad Training Camp along with fellow Pahang teammates, Norshahrul Idlan Talaha and Matthew Davies, for the upcoming international friendlies against Sri Lanka and Kyrgyzstan.

The 27-year-old player hailing from Gambia admitted that at first he was genuinely shocked to hear the news and is indebted to Cheng Hoe for this show of faith.

“This is an amazing opportunity for me to represent the national squad. So I will definitely make the most out of it and I also believe that all Malaysian football fans are hoping that I shine in the upcoming friendlies. I will do my best,” he said in a recent interview with Utusan Malaysia.
