Solskjaer blames Mourinho for FA Cup defeat

Interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has accused his Manchester United players of reverting back to the way Jose Mourinho wanted them to play following their 2-1 FA Cup defeat to Wolves.

Reports claim that the 46-year-old Norwegian likened their slow build-up play in the match to that of Mourinho’s era at the club and told his players to take a good hard look at their own performances during the international break.

Adding to what he said to his players in the changing rooms following the shock defeat, Solskjaer also publicly stated,”It was a big step backwards. That’s the poorest performance since I’ve come here. We know that we played well against Arsenal last week and didn’t get what we deserved, but we got what we deserved today.

“The tempo wasn’t high enough and we played into their hands. We never managed to put their keeper or defenders under pressure. There wasn’t enough quality.”
