Scholes slams “embarrassing” Utd

Manchester United great Paul Scholes said the lack of ambition and discipline throughout the team left Jose Mourinho’s side “outclassed” and “embarrassed” in their Champions League 1-0 defeat to Juventus at Old Trafford this morning.

The Serie A leaders were dominant in the first half and took a lead through forward Paulo Dybala who coolly slotted in a cross from former Manchester United player Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Juventus have outclassed United in every area of the pitch I think. Credit to Dybala he’s finished it well. I give Juventus credit for an away performance against a big club, not a big team as they once were, but they have been so composed.

“There is such a gulf in class. When United have the ball they look nervous. Is Mourinho happy with that? Maybe he is. Who knows? When you’re watching that you are a little bit embarrassed,” said Scholes who’s currently a pundit on BT Sport.

Manchester United are currently second in Group H of the Champions League with four points from three games.
