Ronaldo breaks Juve hat-trick duck

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his maiden Serie A hat-trick as Juventus demolished Cagliari 4-0 at the Allianz Stadium.

It is the 56th time Ronaldo has scored a hat-trick for club (47) and country (9) during the course of his phenomenal career.

The 34-year-old moved to second in the Serie A scoring charts for the season, just two goals behind Lazio’s Ciro Immobile who has scored 17 league goals in 2019-20.

And his three goals against Cagliari means that he has joined Alexis Sanchez as the only players since the turn of the century to bag league hat-tricks in England, Spain, and Italy.

Maurizio Sarri’s Juventus side moved three points clear of Inter Milan in the title race, despite their rivals having a game in hand and a four-goal advantage over them.
