Robertson: No one wants to face Liverpool
Liverpool left back Andy Robertson believes that other teams will want to avoid be being drawn against them in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
Jurgen Klopp’s side progressed from their group as winners with a 2-0 win over Salzburg and could face the likes of Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Atalanta or Olympique Lyon in the knockout stage.
And having made it to the final of the UEFA Champions League two years in a row, Robertson feels that most teams will be hoping to avoid the defending champions.
“We’re respected in this tournament. The way we’ve done things in the last two years, nobody wants to play against us.
“Maybe the first season when we went to the final… we did not get the respect we deserved. Now we know we are respected in Europe. No one will want us.
“We’ll wait… and see who we get. We know it’ll be tough, regardless, but we look forward to the challenge as we want to go far in this tournament again.
“We know that now we’re the champions everyone wants to beat us,” said the 25-year-old Scotland international.
