Reds maintain fine form

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side maintained their spot at the top of the English Premier League following a comfortable 2-0 win over Chelsea at Anfield.

Sadio Mane opened the scoring in the 51st minute with a headed effort after the first half failed to produce any goals. The Senegalese forward connected well with a brilliant cross from team captain Jordan Henderson towards the back post.

And Mohamed Salah added a second just two minutes later, finding the top corner with a sensational long-range strike that arrowed across goal and into the net from 30 yards out.

It took Salah’s Premier League goal tally for the season to 19 – pulling him level with Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero in the Golden Boot race.

Liverpool currently lead the English Premier League table with 85 points from 34 games.
