Pogba’s return from injury hit by illness

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba’s comeback is set to be delayed after he missed two days of training due to illness.

The World Cup winner was expected to return to training this week after recovering from an ankle injury which has kept him out of the team since September.

It has been reported that Pogba attended his brother’s wedding in France last week, but needed a check-up with the team doctor on Saturday and his symptoms worsened the next day.

Speaking about the 26-year-old’s condition, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said, “He’s been struck down ill.

“He’s been off two days, which is not beneficial. It’s probably set him back quite a bit.”

Pogba has only featured for United six times this campaign, having underwent an ankle surgery early in the season.
