Pogba heaps praise on Maguire
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba was delighted with teammate Harry Maguire’s performance in their 4-0 victory over Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side put out a clinical showing against the Blues, with Maguire proving to be a calm presence in defence on his first outing since his RM404.7million move from Leicester City.
And Pogba, who shone in the second half, lauded the England international, telling French reporters: “I call him The Beast. He fit right in with us in training.
“We talked about controlling the defence well and he has a good understanding with Victor [Lindelof]. It was a very good match to start with from the whole team.”
Marcus Rashford scored a brace, while Anthony Martial and Daniel James, who was also making his debut for United, grabbed a goal each as Frank Lampard’s Chelsea side succumbed to a humbling defeat on the opening weekend.
