Pires & Saha laud JDT
Former France international footballers, Robert Pires and Louis Saha were in awe of Johor Darul Ta’zim’s (JDT) club development and infrastructure.
Pires, Saha, Rivaldo, Claude Makelele, Marco Materazzi, Bebeto, Edgar Davids, Florent Malouda, Gianluca Zambrotta, Claudio Caniggia and David Trezeguet joined HRH Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim for a charity match between JDT TMJ and JDT Rest of the World (ROTW) at the Larkin Stadium on Sunday.
And following the match, the footballers attended a coaching clinic at the JDT Academy in Padang Seri Gelam.
“Yesterday, I played at the Larkin Stadium and today, I met with the fans and had a coaching clinic with the JDT Academy which was very exciting.
“The facilities and assets here are really the best and in a class of its own, which indeed can attract many foreign players to be interested to come here,” said former Manchester United and Fulham star, Louis Saha.
Whereas his compatriot, Pires, an Arsenal legend, said that JDT’s club development could be used as a model for other teams in this region.
“I was excited to see the football development in Johor and it’s clearly a result of HRH Major General Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim Crown Prince of Johor’s passion in the sport.
“This is a good experience (playing in Johor) and I hope the fans that were in attendance yesterday were satisfied with the action displayed,” he shared.
