Pahang coach unhappy with Sumareh situation
Pahang coach, Dollah Salleh, is disappointed that striker Mohamadou Sumareh will only be registered as a local player effective next March.
The verdict by the Malaysian Football League (MFL) means that the player will have to wait until the second transfer window of the season, despite already being called up to to represent the national side by coach Tan Cheng Hoe.
“If Sumareh is already eligible to play for the national (Malaysian) side, he must be regarded as a local player and it should not be delayed any further,” said Dollah.
This directive by the MFL will affect Pahang’s preparations for next season and the coach is hoping that they will reconsider their decision.
“The delay will affect our preparations for next season and I hope they reconsider,” he said.
Sumareh acquired his Malaysian citizenship back in April.
