Nantes demand Sala transfer fee
French club Nantes FC have demanded payment from Cardiff City over the RM78 million transfer of Emiliano Sala, who is feared to be deceased.
Reports state that Cardiff have received a letter from Nantes, in which the French club threatened to take legal action if the first scheduled payment is not made within the next 10 days.
It is believed that Cardiff have a player insurance policy of RM84.1 million per individual and that Sala was registered under those terms. However a source from the club revealed that no payment will be released until an official investigation is completed.
The plane carrying Argentine striker Sala along with pilot David Ibbotson, from Crowle, Lincolnshire, disappeared en route to Cardiff after the footballer returned to Nantes to say goodbye to his former team-mates on 21 January.
