MUSA President confident of revival

Melaka United Soccer Association (MUSA) President, Adly Zahari, said he is still confident that the team will do well this season following their 3-2 defeat to PKNS FC in the Malaysia FA Cup 2019.

Without import players Darko Markovic and Liridon Krasniqi in the side, Melaka found themselves three goals down after 70 minutes of game time.

Despite pulling two goals back, it was too little too late for Zainal Abidin’s side as they suffered their fifth defeat out of six matches in all competitions.

And while questions have been asked about Zainal’s ability to guide the team, Adly, who is also the Chief Minister of Malacca, has stressed that this is merely a minor setback and there are no plans to replace the coach whatsoever.

“I will not make that rash decision (replacing Zainal) because we started well and were unfortunate to suffer a few injuries this season.

“But I admit that we are lacking in midfield and we will try to solve that issue so that we can finish the season strongly.

Even though we were defeated in the FA Cup, we are still doing well in the league. There’s room for improvement,” he said.
