Mat Yo unfazed by Vietnam’s defence
National football forward, Norshahrul Idlan Talaha is confident that Malaysia will be able to get past Vietnam’s solid defence in their World Cup 2022/Asian Cup 2023 qualifiers this Thursday.
According to the 33-year-old striker, who is fondly referred to as Mat Yo, the players should remain focused on their own performance rather than worrying about what the opposition have to offer.
“It’s true that they have a defender who plays in Europe and it could prove to be an advantage for Vietnam.
“However, if the players remain united and give it their 100 percent, I’m confident that we can get a positive result here,” he said during Malaysia’s training session in Hanoi.
Vietnam coach Park Hang Seo has called up Heerenveen SC (Dutch league) defender Doan Van Hau and Sint-Truidense (Belgian league) forward Nguyen Cong Phuong for the upcoming clash at the My Dinh National Stadium.
