Man Utd knock out holders Chelsea

Manchester United defeated defending champions Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge to progress to the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Ander Herrera opened the scoring with a header in the 31st minute while Paul Pogba, having assisted for the first, added a second right before half-time, as United beat the Blues away from home for the first time since 2012.

Following the victory, Manchester United caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said, “Massive (result), of course. You want to see a reaction (following the 2-0 defeat to PSG in the Champions League).

“The players have been brilliant in training. We were quite confident going into this game that we had found the right team selection and temperament.

“There’s a balance between being too eager after losing a game, so today was brilliant.”

Manchester United are set to face Wolves in the FA Cup quarter-finals on 16 March 2019.
