Malaysia suffer narrow defeat

Malaysia suffered a 1-0 defeat to Kyrgyzstan in an international friendly at the Hang Jebat Stadium, Paya Rumput last night.

Despite putting on a convincing performance, the national squad were unfortunate to lose to a solitary goal by the visitors.

Kyrgyzstan’s match winning goal came in the 68th minute through Sagynbaev Bekzhan, whose powerful shot proved too much for national goalkeeper and captain Khairul Fahmi Che Mat.

The Harimau Malaya tried hard to find an equaliser but were unable to do so, despite the visitors being reduced to 10-men in the 80th minute following a red card to Iusupov Mustafa.

However, Malaysia’s strong attacking play on the night proves that there have been some positive changes in the squad ahead of the much anticipated AFF Suzuki Cup this November.
