Malaysia are up for the challenge

Malaysia national coach Tan Cheng Hoe said his squad are fully prepared for the upcoming AFF Suzuki Cup.

His side are set to face Cambodia in their Group A opening match this Thursday and he said, “The players are ready. We have the confidence to excel in the AFF Cup and we will take full advantage of the fact that there is no host nation this time around.

Malaysia overcame Maldives, winning 3-0, in their final international friendly before the tournament and the coach was delighted with his team’s performance.

“I have to compliment the players for the way they played against Maldives. They did very well given the circumstances. They looked confident on the ball and displayed a great deal of commitment,” he said during a recent interview.

Malaysia are in Group A of the AFF Suzuki Cup alongside Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.
