Madrid set to swoop for Sterling

Spanish giants Real Madrid are said to be more interested than ever to sign Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling.

This is following his outstanding performance for England in the Nations League tie against Spain at Seville yesterday. Sterling ended his three year goal drought in style with two goals to help England secure a crucial 3-2 win over Spain.

It was reported that Madrid representatives were in attendance at the Estadio Benito Villamarin to watch Sterling play a leading role for England and left the UEFA Nations League clash feeling rather impressed.

Sterling has just 18 months left on his current contract at Manchester City, with the club fearing that his price tag could be slashed by more than half come next year.
