Luqman wants another chance
17-year-old forward Luqman Hakim Shamsuddin is hoping that he will be given another chance to prove his worth at the SEA Games 2019 in Manila, Philippines.
Luqman failed to impress during Malaysia’s 1-1 draw against Myanmar in the Group A opener on Monday and was substituted in the second half by head coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee.
The player has now said that he is determined to redeem himself, if given the opportunity this Friday.
“I’m not happy with my performance against Myanmar because there were many aspects lacking. I admit that I struggled in the first match,” said the player who recently signed a professional contract with Belgium top division side KV Kortrijk.
“I promise to perform better if the coach gives me another chance to be in the starting line-up.”
The Harimau Muda are set to face host nation Philippines in their second Group A match this Friday (29 November).
