Lukaku completes Inter move
Serie A side Inter Milan have signed Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku for a club record fee of RM346million on a five-year deal.
The 26-year-old Belgian is the third most expensive signing by a Serie A club behind Juventus forwards Cristiano Ronaldo (RM464.6m) and Gonzalo Higuain (RM352.7m).
Lukaku scored 42 goals in 96 games for United and leaves the Premier League side two years after his RM351m move from Everton.
“Inter were the only club I wanted. I’m here to bring the Nerazzurri back to the top,” said Lukaku following his move to Italy.
In an official statement, Manchester United said: “Everybody would like to thank Romelu for his efforts at the club and pass on our best wishes for the future.”
He did not feature in any of United’s pre-season games, with boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claiming that the player had an ankle injury.
