Liverpool storm into next round

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side put on an impressive display as they eased past FC Porto 4-1 (Agg: 6-1) in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final at the Estádio do Dragão.

Goals from Sadio Mane (26′), Mohamed Salah (65′), Roberto Firmino (77′) and Virgil van Dijk (84′) ensured their progression to the semi-finals where they are set to face Lionel Messi’s Barcelona next.

“To be in the semi-final for a second time in a row is a big statement.

“I’m really proud of the boys. Doing it in different ways makes it even more special. Last year we had crazy results and that carries you through the competition.

“The big difference of the past is if we are under pressure, no problem, and after that we will know we will get chances. We are second time in a row in the semi-finals. That is really something crazy,” said Klopp who is hoping that he will be the one to help Liverpool win their sixth European title.
