Lewandowski hails Coutinho impact

Robert Lewandowski has been very impressed with Philippe Coutinho’s performance following his summer transfer from Barcelona and thinks his arrival makes them more “dangerous”.

“His [Coutinho’s] final ball is insane, he can be the key in important games, especially in the Champions League. He can give us that something special. It makes us more unpredictable [with Coutinho in the team], which makes us more dangerous.”

The Polish international also now appears to be content with the club’s summer transfers, notably the acquisition of Coutinho and Ivan Perisic, after publicly questioning their intent following the high profile departures of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.

The 31-year-old is contracted with the Allianz Arena club until 2021 but looks set to sign a two-year contract extension.

“From my point of view there are only details left to clarify [regarding a contract extension].

“Maybe I can even reach the 300-goal mark in the Bundesliga. I would like to play another five, six years at the top level,” he said.
