Leicester owner confirmed dead in helicopter crash

Leicester City FC have confirmed the death of owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha after his helicopter crashed outside the King Power Stadium on Saturday night.

Two members of Vichai’s staff (Nursara Suknamai and Kaveporn Punpare), the pilot (Eric Swaffer) and his partner (Izabela Roza Lechowicz), were also killed in the tragic crash which has left the footballing community in total shock.

Reports claim that the helicopter had just cleared the King Power Stadium before it spiralled out of control and crashed.

Vichai, 60, bought Leicester City for £39m back in 2010. And under his ownership, the club went on to win the English Premier League in 2016, having started the season as 5,000/1 outsiders.
