Leicester hammer FIVE past Newcastle
Jamie Vardy struck a brace as Leicester City hammered Newcastle United 5-0 at the King Power Stadium to climb into third of the English Premier League standings.
The Magpies, currently languishing in the relegation zone, suffered a match to forget as Ricardo Pereira put the Foxes ahead with a fine solo effort in the 16th minute and Isaac Hayden being shown a straight red card for a horror challenge on Dennis Praet shortly before half-time.
Leicester came out all guns blazing after the restart and made their numerical advantage count with Vardy striking either side of a Paul Dummett own goal and Wilfried Ndidi capping off the game in fine fashion by volleying home a finish in the 90th minute.
Leicester have accumulated 14 points in the Premier League this season, seven behind leaders Liverpool and two behind second-placed Manchester City.
