KLFA: Don’t make a rash decision

The Kuala Lumpur Football Association (KLFA) are urging the Malaysia Football League (MFL) to not make the rash decision of blocking their yearly grant.

The decision was made by the MFL following KLFA’s failure to pay the salaries of a number of their players.

Now, KLFA Vice President Datuk Kamarudin Hassan explained that they are ready to offer a detailed explanation as to why there has been a delay in the payment of player salaries. And he also added that the MFL should be fair because KLFA are not the only ones who are dealing with the overdue salary issue.

“We will deal with the overdue salary issue and the president is also working towards that. It’s only a matter of time. We are also ready to give a detailed explanation to the MFL.

“But the MFL can’t just make a rash decision such as this. It shouldn’t be that whenever there’s a case such as this, they proceed to block the yearly grant. They should instead investigate the matter and see us (KLFA) about it.

“Yes it’s true that we have yet to pay (player salaries). But there are other teams that are going through the same thing at the moment. It’s not just KLFA.

“In fact, in the last couple of years, KLFA have never had an issue with player salaries and we always pay on time. It’s just the end of last year that we were slightly delayed,” he said.
