Kim Swee eyes positive result
Malaysia Under-23 Head Coach, Datuk Ong Kim Swee has urged his players to go all out against Myanmar in their final Group B match of the AFF U-22 Championship 2019 today.
The Harimau Malaya need to secure all three points in their clash at the RSN Stadium, Phnom Penh, while hoping that second placed Indonesia do not emerge victorious over host nation Cambodia.
“We don’t need to think about the game between Indonesia and Cambodia. If we do not focus and don’t play well to get all three points but Cambodia end up defeating Indonesia, it will be pointless.
“But if we do go on to get the victory and the other result favours Indonesia, then it is entirely beyond our control.
“Whatever it is, I hope that we will get a positive result and progress to the next round. But if that does not happen, then it would be a good lesson for the players,” said Kim Swee.
Malaysia are set to face Myanmar at 7.30pm today.
