KFA: Akhyar still belongs to us
The Kedah Football Association (KFA) insists that Akhyar Rashid is still their player despite the shock announcement from Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) yesterday.
According to the KFA, Akhyar has yet to redeem his contract as was instructed by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) before this.
“This is because the player didn’t redeem his contract. The guidelines set by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), states that the player needs to redeem his contract before he is allowed to leave.
“The Player Release Certificate belongs to KFA until 30 November 2019. The player signing two contracts at once is a disgrace to the FAM Statute,” said the KFA.
JDT announced the signing of the player via their official social media platforms yesterday: “Johor Darul Ta’zim FC are delighted to have signed 19-year-old Akhyar Rashid on a four-year contract. JDT have also added a RM12,000,000 transfer release clause on Akhyar’s contract.
“There is a development fee of RM75, 000 to be paid to the player’s former club, and as a sign of respect to Kedah for developing Akhyar’s talent, JDT will pay Kedah RM100,000.”
