Kedah lift FA Cup trophy!
Substitute Mohd Fadzrul Danel Mohd Nizam scored with his first touch to help Kedah clinch a 1-0 win over Perak in the final of the Malaysia FA Cup at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium.
The victory is not only a repeat of their 2017 feat, but it also means that the Helang Merah squad are now one of the most decorated teams in FA Cup history, alongside Selangor, having won the trophy a total of five times to date.
Just when it appeared that the match would be decided on penalties, Kedah coach Aidil Sharin Sahak’s masterstroke to replace David William Rowley with Fadzrul proved to be the difference as the 21-year-old put away his side’s winning goal in the 105th minute.
“It was a beautiful game with both teams determined to win the title.
“Congratulations to Fadzrul. He came on and scored from his first touch,” said Aidil.
