Kane breaks Champions League record

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has become the fastest player in the history of the Champions League to reach 20 goals.

The England captain scored two goals to help his side bounce back and defeat Olympiacos 4-2 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this morning.

It’s taken the 26-year-old just 24 games to accomplish the feat, beating Juventus legend Alessandro del Piero’s previous record by two games.

Kane has also hit the 20-goal mark quicker than legendary strikers Ruud Van Nistelrooy (27), Filippo Inzaghi (28) and Mario Gomez (32).

It looked as if it was going to be a miserable outing for Jose Mourinho on his first home game in charge when Spurs found themselves trailing 2-0 early on.

But the ‘Special One’ turned things around by replacing Eric Dier with Christian Eriksen in the first half and watched his side hit back in stunning fashion.

Tottenham advanced to the last-16 in second place, with Bayern Munich topping Group B.
