Irfan slams his players

Terengganu FC (TFC) head coach, Irfan Bakti Abu Salim, is furious with the way his players performed against M3 League side, Ultimate FC, in the Malaysia FA Cup.

Despite winning the match 5-0, Irfan slammed his players for falling to score more goals in the first 70 minutes at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium.

“We were too cautious in the first half and we made it harder than it should have been. We should have been playing one-touch football, but we didn’t.

“They (TFC players) lost the ball many times and were out of formation. It was as if we were playing a friendly and more disappointingly, the wingers were not effective along with midfielder Sanjar Shaakhmedov who played poorly in the first half.

“However, those weaknesses were fixed in the last 25 minutes of game time with the players looking more comfortable before scoring four goals,” said the 68-year-old.
