Irfan: I’m still proud of TFC

Terengganu FC coach Irfan Bakti said he’s very proud of his side’s performance despite their defeat to Perak FC in the final of the Malaysia Cup 2018.

TFC were two goals up at half time but allowed Perak back into the game in the second half.

Irfan said his side was partially affected by the injury suffered by striker Kipre Tchetche and Lee Tuck’s sending off.

“Without them, we lost our goal threat. Abdul Malik Arif and J. Partiban came close to scoring but they squandered their chances. We could have killed the game.

“But I’m still very proud of the players who fought till the very end and for me, the penalty shootout is like a lottery. Luck was not on our side,” said the coach.

Irfan, who has signed a contract which will see him remain at TFC in 2019, said the team will come back stronger next season.
