Iheanacho rescues Leicester

Leicester City were able to clinch a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa towards the end of today’s Carabao Cup semi-final, first leg, with still everything left to play for in the return leg.

Despite Leicester dominating the first-half, it was Aston Villa who opened the scoring just before the half-hour mark through Frederic Guilbert.

The 25-year-old Frenchman made his way into the danger zone to knock in Anwar El Ghazi’s cross past Kasper Schmeichel.

But the Foxes had the final say as Kelechi Iheanacho smashed home a powerful shot past Aston Villa goalkeeper Orjan Nyland in the 74th minute.

Aston Villa will host Leicester City at Villa Park in the return leg on 29 January.
