Historic day for Juve and Ronaldo

Italian giants Juventus defeated Fiorentina 2-1 to create history by claiming their 8th consecutive Serie A title while Cristiano Ronaldo made some history of his own.

The Turin club became the first ever team in Serie A, English Premier League, La Liga, Ligue 1 or the Bundesliga to win eight league titles in a row.

Ronaldo, on the other hand, became the first player in history to win the Premier League, La Liga and Serie A.

Juventus appeared to be still licking their wounds following their UEFA Champions League elimination at the hands of Ajax, as Nikola Milenkovic put Fiorentina ahead as early as the 6th minute.

But Alex Sandro put Juventus back on level terms 30 minutes later, before Fiorentina defender German Pezzella (53′) diverted Ronaldo’s cross past his own goalkeeper to complete the comeback win.

Following the historic milestone, Ronaldo also committed his immediate future to the club by stating that, “My future? I will be at Juventus next year 1000 per cent, I’m very happy for the Scudetto & the Super Cup.

“We have behaved well in the Champions League, next year it will be better.”
