Harimau Muda thrash Brunei 11-0
The Malaysia national Under 18 (U-18) football team produced a sublime performance to defeat Brunei 11-0 in the AFC U-19 Championship 2020 Qualifiers at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
It was the second victory in a row for Brad Maloney’s squad following their 5-4 win over host nation Cambodia in the opening clash of Group G last Saturday.
Luqman Hakim Shamsudin proved his attacking prowess with four goals (21′, 22′, 24′ & 41′) in the first half while Muhammad Azrin Afiq (17′), Muhammad Azam Azmi (31′ & 60′), Mohd Aiman Afif (39′, 84′ & 90′) and Harith Haiqal Adam (58′) completed the rout.
The Harimau Muda are on level points with Thailand in Group G but currently occupy the second spot due to an inferior goal difference.
They will be going up against Northern Mariana Islands in their next group match this Friday.
