Harimau Malaya ready to face Thailand

Malaysia national football head coach, Tan Cheng Hoe, said his side are ready to face Thailand in the World Cup 2022/Asian Cup 2023 qualifiers following their 1-0 win over Tajikistan on Saturday.

However, the former Kedah coach did admit there are still a few aspects that they need to work on ahead of the clash at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium this Thursday.

“Tajikistan is not an easy team for us to defeat. We almost conceded a couple of times in the first half. There’s still a lot of homework left to be done.

“Overall, I think the players performed very well eventhough some of them were still feeling fatigued.

“Our training sessions have been going great this week and the players are eager to secure their spot in the team.

“It’s a good sign for us and everyone knows that it won’t be an easy match against Thailand,” said Cheng Hoe in a recent press conference.

Competing in Group G of the second round of the World Cup 2022/Asian Cup 2023 qualifiers, Malaysia are currently fourth with three points, four points behind leaders Thailand.
