Favourites progress in Europa League

Napoli, Arsenal, Chelsea and Inter Milan have all joined Sevilla in the Last 16 of the UEFA Europa League after recording wins in their respective clashes this morning.

Adam Ounas set up Simone Verdi to volley in the Napoli opener in the 43rd minute before bagging one for himself in the 75th minute to defeat FC Zurich 2-0 (agg: 5-1) at the San Paolo Stadium.

Meanwhile in London, Chelsea and Arsenal cruised past Malmo (agg: 5-1) and BATE Borisov (agg: 3-1), respectively, with comfortable 3-0 victories in front of their home supporters.

Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud maintained his hot streak in Europe with a goal in the 55th minute while Ross Barkley (74′) and Callum Hudson-Odoi (84′) ensured that there would be no way back for Malmo at Stamford Bridge.

The Gunners overturned their first leg defeat to BATE in stunning fashion thanks to an own goal by Zakhar Volkov (4′) and strikes from Shkodran Mustafi (39′) and Sokratis Papastathopoulos (60′)

The draw for the UEFA Europa League Last 16 is set to take place later today.
