FAS deny Sathia sacking rumours

The Football Association of Selangor (FAS) have denied rumours stating that head coach, B.Sathianathan, is set to be sacked following their poor performance in the Malaysia Super League this season.

There have been numerous reports claiming that Sathia is set to be replaced by a foreign coach and that the person is already in Kuala Lumpur. Some of the names being thrown around right now are Kedah head coach, Ramon Marcote and Malaysia Under 19 head coach, Bojan Hodak.

And FAS Secretary General, Dr. Johan Kamal Hamidon, has sought to completely quash the rumours involving Sathia by saying that the management are very confident in his abilities as a coach.

“Those are just rumours. We will not make a rash decision which can cost the team dearly.

“FAS have full faith in the coach and the players themselves have displayed a great deal of fighting spirit.

“If you look at the last two matches against Pahang and JDT. I think we can all agree that Selangor has improved tremendously,” he said.
