FAS aim to launch anti-racism campaign

The Football Association of Selangor are planning to launch an anti-racism campaign following the revelation that team head coach B.Sathianathan was racially abused by some of their own supporters on social media.

FAS Secretary-General, Dr. Johan Kamal Hamidon, said that he is disappointed this is still happening in the modern era while reminding supporters that they should channel their anger in the right manner.

“Criticising someone based on their race should never happen. FAS are completely against supporters who commit the act of racial provocation.

“We understand, they are upset with the team’s performance but they have no right to racially abuse someone. They have the right to voice out, but they cannot go overboard.

“I will bring up this matter with the commitee members and we are planning to launch an anti-racism campaign with our media team.

“And I think if the FAM are involved as well, this campaign will be far more effective,” he said.
