Cheng Hoe wary of Cambodia threat

Malaysia National Coach Tan Cheng Hoe has reminded his players to not be affected by the Cambodian supporters in their AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 Group A match tonight.

The Cambodian fans came out in full force during their recent international friendly with Malaysia and it appeared to affect the national squad mentally.

Despite winning the match 3-1, Cheng Hoe has urged his players to focus on the task at hand and not be overwhelmed.

“I hope the players display a strong sense of unity as it is not an easy place to go to. Their supporters are very passionate.

“I know that the presence of thousands of Cambodian supporters and the pressure to do well in this tournament will be a lot for the players to handle. But I believe they are strong enough to overcome it.

“We are here to get a positive result but we know that Cambodia are a strong side. I hope the players can deal with the pressure,” said Cheng Hoe in a pre-game media session.

Malaysia are set to face Cambodia in Group A of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 at 7.30pm tonight.
