Cheng Hoe urges for caution against Vietnam
Malaysia football head coach, Tan Cheng Hoe has reminded his squad to be cautious of Vietnam’s swift counter-attacking style of play when the two sides meet in Group G of the World Cup 2022/Asian Cup 2023 qualifiers in Hanoi.
The 51-year-old stressed that his defensive players must remain focused throughout the match because their upcoming opponents are fast with the ball.
However, he is confident that his squad are well equipped to deal with Vietnam at the My Dinh National Stadium on Thursday.
“The players are not concerned about playing in front of a huge crowd as we have done it numerous times at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium. So it is not a big obstacle for us.
“We just need to be wary of their quick counter-attacks and defend accordingly,” he said at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport before their flight to Hanoi on Monday.
