Cheng Hoe concerned by player fitness
Malaysia National Coach, Tan Cheng Hoe, is concerned with the fitness levels of some of his players ahead of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018.
The former Kedah FA coach said that following a complete season of league football, some players might be feeling drained both physically and mentally.
“The players have been playing all season long and as a coach, I’m a bit concerned that they might be tired both physically and mentally. But I think they are determined to achieve success in the AFF Cup campaign.
“Out of the 26 players available, only Kenny Pallraj is currently injured. I believe the others are ready for the task at hand,” he said.
Cheng Hoe also said that he will be using the upcoming international friendly against Maldives to figure out his best starting 11.
“We will try to find our best starting 11 in the match against Maldives but it won’t be easy because a Class A international friendly only allows a maximum of six substitutions. But we will try to find the best starting 11,” he said.
