Chelsea thrash Arsenal to win Europa League

Eden Hazard turned on the style to help Chelsea secure a comprehensive 4-1 victory over London rivals Arsenal and lift the Europa League trophy at the Baku Olympic Stadium this morning.

The all-English final burst into life in the second half as goals from Olivier Giroud (49′), Pedro (60′) and Hazard (65′ & 72′) gave Italian manager Maurizio Sarri a major trophy in his first season in charge and Chelsea a first European title since the 2013 Europa League.

But things were not all peachy for the Blues as star man Hazard pretty much confirmed that he will be leaving the club this summer.

“I think it is a goodbye but in football, you never know.

“My dream was to play in the Premier League. I did this for seven years for one of the biggest clubs in the world. Maybe it’s time for a new challenge,” said the 28-year-old Belgian during his post-match interview.
