Chelsea held at home

The Blues suffered a setback in their push for a top-four finish after being held to a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge to Burnley in the Premier League.

Despite getting off to a bright start, Chelsea were made to pay for some lacklustre defending during a corner in the eighth-minute as Jeff Hendrick opened the scoring with a stunning volleyed effort.

However, the six minutes that followed favoured the Blues courtesy of two quickfire goals from N’Golo Kante (12′) and Gonzalo Higuain (14′).

Parity was restored in the 24th minute when Ashley Barnes fired home a close-range effort following a free-kick for Burnley.

The outcome of the match pretty much guarantees Burnley’s survival in the Premier League but, for Chelsea, it was another missed opportunity to move into third in the standings.

Maurizio Sarri’s side are currently in fourth place, one point ahead of London rivals Arsenal, who have a game in hand.
