Chelsea beat Barca to lift Rakuten Cup
Goals from Tammy Abraham and Ross Barkley helped the Blues secure a 2-1 win over Ernesto Valverde’s Barcelona side and clinch the Rakuten Cup in Tokyo.
21-year-old Abraham gave Chelsea the lead in the first half after a costly error by Sergio Busquets, with Barkley wrapping up the win following a fine strike from the edge of the box in the second half.
Ivan Rakitic bagged a consolation goal for the Catalans late on in the match.
Barca were without star players, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, but they did hand a debut to Antoine Griezmann, who was recently signed from Atletico Madrid for RM558million (£108million).
USA international Christian Pulisic also made his first start for Chelsea following an impressive spell with Borussia Dortmund.
