Casillas suffers heart attack during training

Porto FC legendary goalkeeper, Iker Casillas was taken to hospital after he fell ill while training on Wednesday.

During the incident, Casillas suddenly collapsed and caused his training session at the PortoGaia Training Centre in preparation for their league against Aves this weekend to be suspended.

Diagnosed with ‘acute myocardial infarction’ or more commonly known as a heart attack, he was treated immediately and declared out of danger.

Later that day, he posted an update on his condition and a picture of himself on Twitter.

“All under control here, a big scare, but everything is intact. Thank you very much for the messages and affection,” he wrote on Twitter.

Casillas remains in hospital and was not given any timeline of how long he will be sidelined.

Porto has been very supportive about Casillas’ condition and even tweeted an encouraging message for him.

“Always together! Strength, Iker!,” Porto wrote on their official Twitter account.

Casillas has been with Porto since 2015 and his contract was recently extended until the end of the 2019-2020 season.
