Casillas discharged from hospital

Porto FC goalkeeper, Iker Casillas, was discharged from Hospital CUF Porto on Monday after suffering from a heart attack during training last week.

Casillas said, “A few days ago I went through a difficult situation, something that can happen at any moment of life, but fortunately I’m fine. I am grateful and feel that I am very lucky.”

Casillas also told reporters that Porto’s medical team did not only save his life, but they are also doing everything necessary to help him recover faster.

“Thank you to all who cared, for I felt very dear and cherished. I can only get out of this situation with a smile. ”

He added: “I’ll rest for a couple of weeks or a couple of months.”

Casillas was taken to hospital after he suddenly collapsed during training. Diagnosed with a heart attack, he was treated immediately and declared out of danger on that very day.

While being part of the Spain squad, he and his team won two successive European Championships, in 2008 and 2012, and the World Cup in 2010.
